Cheryl Rose embodies boundless compassion and dedication in her lifelong fight against cancer, providing unwavering support to her husband and four sisters during their battles. Her impact extends beyond her family, as demonstrated by her 12-year tenure on the Children with Cancer Christmas Foundation board, where she brought joy and hope to young patients. Cheryl’s advocacy continued through her role on the board for the Simmons Center for Cancer Research at BYU, fostering advancements in the field. Alongside her husband, Cheryl lobbied Congress and organized fundraising efforts, notably raising over $1 million through the Dave and Cheryl Rose Golf Tournament. Their enduring contribution includes the establishment of an endowment for Cancer Research students at BYU, ensuring support for future generations. Cheryl’s resilience and advocacy make her a beacon of hope, inspiring many within and beyond the cancer community. Yet amidst her extensive efforts, Cheryl finds her greatest joy in her family, drawing strength from their love and laughter. The American Cancer Society is honored to celebrate Cheryl Rose as our 2024 honorary Chair and Mission Speaker to support the Salt Lake City Hope Lodge program.
